June 9 – A five-day workshop on ‘Koha: the Open Source Library Package’ will be organised at the Department of Library and Information Science, Gauhati University, from July 5 to 9.
The programme is being sponsored by the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, a press release said.
The workshop is for the library professionals working in different types of libraries including academic, public and special. Participants will have to sign an agreement duly endorsed by the head of the institution to share bibliographic data for the union catalogue.
Participants can download the prescribed registration form at http//n-larc.ac.in or contact the coordinator of the workshop Prof Narendra Lahkar, Head of Department of Library and Information Science, Gauhati University, at firstname.lastname@example.org for the prescribed form and other details. The hard copy of the filled in form has to be mailed to the coordinator of the workshop and the last date for receipt is June 25, the press release said.
It added that a total of 30 applicants will be selected and participants have been advised to bring along their own laptops for the workshop. The training will be conducted by renowned scholars in the field, the release said.
